Mr. Leven was an accomplished racer who achieved success with the Porsche marque, including numerous wins at the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) races during the 1980’s. During his later years he maintained a private Porsche collection and this 356SC Coupe was one of the cars that he was known to drive on a regular basis. It comes complete with its owner’s manual, tool kit, an insurance card in Bruce Leven’s name, over $13,000 in recent invoices and the Porsche Production Specifications certificate which verifies that the numbers matching SC spec engine and transaxle are still in place. We are proud to offer this stunning 1965 Porsche 356SC Reutter Coupe to the most particular collector, investor or enthusiast who appreciates the legacy of the Porsche 356 and the performance of the “Super Carrera” specification models. History of the Porsche 356SC
The 356 was created by Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche Senior, and was originally conceived as a small, lightweight sports car that shared design characteristics of the Porsche-designed Volkswagen Beetle that was developed by prior to WWII. Believed to have taken its name from being the three hundred and fifty sixth Porsche design, the 356 was the first production automobile to bear the Porsche name. Production began in 1948 with the first cars being built with aluminum bodies constructed in Austria and production eventually switched to Germany after Porsche contracted Reutter Coachworks to build the 356 bodies. In 1951, the 356 took a class win at LeMans and thanks to the efforts of U.S. Importer Max Hoffman, the Porsche brand had won over motoring enthusiasts from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The 356SC or “Super Carrera” was first introduced alongside the 356C in 1963. Often considered the fully evolved 356 by enthusiasts, the third generation 356 featured upgraded handling and the addition of 4-wheel disc brakes which ensured adequate stopping power. Engine choices remained the same as the B, except with the addition of the SC model which offered a more powerful pushrod 4-cylinder Porsche engine with an incredible 95 horsepower. The 356SC was produced in limited numbers as only the most discerning drivers paid for the engine upgrade. 356 production would come to an end in 1965 to make more room for the 900 series line that was introduced during the prior year, but the legacy of the 356 and the 356SC in particular lives on in the hearts of motoring enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

    Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
