HISTORY OF THE 1955 PACKARD CARIBBEAN: The 1955 models were so revolutionary that Packard started its model designation system over again, referring to the new line as the first series. And new they were: a brand new, high output overhead valve V8 engine with twin four-barrel carburetors, producing an amazing 310 horsepower, coupled to the new push button Twin-Ultramatic transmission. An innovative new torsion bar suspension featured automatic leveling, making the 1955 Packard the smoothest riding and best handling full size car of the time. The styling was impressive across the board, as it was modern, fresh and attractive. The top of the line Caribbean featured a striking three-tone paint scheme, two-tone leather interior, and a flamboyant dashboard and striking ornamentation layout. Although most updates for 1956 were minor, one of the most attractive new features were the reversible seat cushions – leather on one side, and elegant cloth on the other. At $5,995, the cars were breathtaking, albeit quite expensive. The Packard Caribbean on offer has been in sunny, dry California from new and currently shows just 40,000 miles, which are believed to be original. One of only about 270 examples built for the model year, it benefits from a recent restoration and is finished in a lovely tri-tone color combination of White Jade, Rose Quartz and Grey Pearl with a matching tri-tone leather interior. Features include a white power convertible top, factory air conditioning and Twin-Ultramatic automatic transmission with a “Jetson-esque” push-button selector pod connected to the steering column. This Caribbean also features a self-leveling hydraulic suspension and all available power options including rear mounted, dual synchronized power antennas. It has its correct, reversible seat backs and cushions, to a silver mesh pattern, which match the impressive dashboard. Please note an instruction sheet detailing for full operational function comes with the car as well.

Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
