Introduced toward the end of 1962, the Silver Cloud III heralded mainly cosmetic changes, with the most notable being a new four-headlamp arrangement. Mechanically, it was claimed that the 6.2-liter alloy V-8 now produced eight percent more power than before, resulting in an output increase to almost 220 bhp. The Silver Cloud III sold quite well, with 2,376 examples produced from late 1962 until October 1965, when the Silver Shadow debuted.
