1990 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

This exquisite motorcar is fitted with nearly every option and has only been driven 7,966 miles (12,820 kilometers)from new. This investment grade Countach is the rare and desired 25th Anniversary model and the last of the series. I personally believe that the 25th Anniversary Countach’s will be the next models to increase rapidly in value. They are already being compared to the great Lamborghini Miura, which sells for nearly $400,000. Bid with confidence you will not be disappointed in this truly magnificent motorcar! HISTORY OF THE 1990 LAMBORGHINI 25TH ANNIVERSARY COUNTACH COUPE: Designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, this phenomenal two-door, two seater berlinetta with horizontally hinged doors was made to American specifications with Bosch KE Jetronic fuel injection, all-wheel independent suspension and round-section steel tubular spaceframe by Marchesi. This 1990 Countach 25th Anniversary is one of only 657 made. The body is made of aluminum panels with molded fiberglass wheelarch extenders and front spoiler, Kevlar was used for for the front and rear hoods. The Lamborghini Countach became a legend in its own time, but Automobili Lamborghini took this masterpiece one step further; to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Lamborghini factory they designed and built the ultimate Countach that was intended to be sold in limited numbers – but it became the best selling Countach ever. Actually, the Diablo was intended to commemorate this anniversary, but its prototype was in no way ready for presentation so at Lamborghini they decided to use a completely new Countach for this event. And the Anniversario was in fact a new Countach, they redesigned as much as possible, but had to avoid new homologation for this car, so the base of the Anniversario was the then current QuattroValvole. But only a few items remained from the QV, the front spoiler/bumper was redesigned, now with extra cooling vents for the front brakes, and sills were mounted with cooling streaks for the rear brakes. Also the scoops on the rear wings were redesigned, now much more incorporated into the wing, but still effective enough to keep the engine cool, which also received a new hood. Most of these new panels and the front lid were now made of composite materials as used on the Evoluzione. The rear lights were now the same as on the earlier US-specifications car, and the body-design had a rear bumper incorporated in it, eliminating the ugly black bumpers used on the same US-spec cars, the front bumpers were however retained on cars going to the United States. The space frame was also retained, but the suspension had to be slightly modified because of the new Pirelli P Zero tires, now mounted on redesigned multi-piece OZ wheels, these modifications were executed under the guidance of the champion race driver Sandro Munari. They made the Anniversario more stable and safer, completely different from the ‘normal’ Countach. The interior was also redone, the seats became wider and now offered electrical adjustments of both the seat and the back, also the design of the door panels was modified. The side windows were now electrically powered and the air-conditioning was again made standard issue. All these modifications made the Countach look less violent; the Anniversario wouldn’t shock anybody like the QV would, but with this latest evolution of the Italian super car, you could finally use it every day, even in the city. Production was finally halted in 1990 when the Diablo finally appeared.
