While this Porsche most recently resided in Southern California, it spent more than 30 years with the same meticulous owner in Connecticut who sparingly drove and kept meticulous records durng this period. Three decades worth of notes and invoices accompany this final production year 356 Cabriolet while the Certificate of Authenticity verifies that the numbers matching engine and transaxle are still in place. History of the Porsche 356C Reutter Cabriolet
The 356 was created by Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche Senior, and was originally conceived as a small, lightweight sports car that shared design characteristics of the Porsche-designed Volkswagen Beetle that was developed prior to WWII. Believed to have taken its name from being the three hundred and fifty sixth Porsche design, the 356 was the first production automobile to bear the Porsche name. Production began in 1948 and the first cars were built with aluminum bodies constructed in Austria though production eventually switched to Germany after Porsche contracted Reutter Coachworks to build the 356 bodies. In 1951, the 356 took a class win at Le Mans and thanks to the efforts of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Porsche brand quickly won over motoring enthusiasts from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The 356C debuted in 1964 and is considered by many to be the best driving example with disc brakes now standard on all four corners. 1965 marked the final production year of the 356 to make room for the new 900 series cars. The Reutter bodied Cabriolet was always considered a stylish offering, but it is perhaps the most desirable in 356C form. As such final production year 356C Cabriolet examples are highly sought after by collectors today.

    Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
