  • Designed by Marcello Gandini, the Espada was built as a GT car based on a 2+2 platform. It was introduced to the market in 1968 and would remain in production for a decade with three different series of cars built. Each series would feature drive-train and interior improvements. Despite being sold along side other models like the 400 GT, the Islero and Miura, the Espada was Lamborghini’s most successful model at the time due to its comfortable, yet powerful experience for drivers on the road.

Lamborghini introduced the Series II Espada, also known as the 400 GTE, in 1970 at the Brussels Salon. It featured a revised dashboard and center console with some minor exterior improvements. The major upgrade for the Series II was the increase of compression ratio from 107.7:1, bringing the 3.9 litre V12 engine from 325 to 350 horsepower. Vented disc brakes would grace all four corners and helped to turn the Espada to a more civilized yet practical sports car that today makes the Series II cars more desirable than there Series I counterparts.

The example featured here is finished in classic Argento Silver with an impeccably-kept original black leather interior and has been driven just 29,417 miles from new. This investment-grade GT car has only had one meticulous owner who showed it at various Italian car shows, most recently the 2008 Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California. The Espada is accompanied with full documentation including the original owner’s manual as well as service records from new. This extremely late production Series II is one of only 151 built in 1972 and is among one of the best examples you’ll find on the market today. The opportunity to acquire an Espada in this condition and known provenance is truly a collector’s dream and are proud to offer it to the most demanding enthusiast who desires the best. Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
