1951 MERCEDES-BENZ 220 B CONVERTIBLE
Daniel Schmitt & Co. is proud to present what is likely the most original surviving 1951 Mercedes-Benz 220 B Convertible in existence. This car was just discovered after resting untouched in dry storage for the past 44-years and is likely the only 1951 Mercedes-Benz 220 B Convertible to have survived in such original and complete condition. The amount of documentation accompanying this car is truly incredible; including a letter from the factory confirming this particular car was a Mercedes-Benz factory show car featured at the 1951 Berlin Auto Salon. From there it was sold to its original owner, M.L. Hoblit of Santa Monica, CA. In 1955, Mr. Hoblit sold it to C.B. Crouch of Anaheim, CA who drove the car until parking it in 1970. It received one repaint in 1960 from its original maroon to its current blue, and at the same time was fitted with a Becker Europa Radio. The heat exchangers are not pictured installed on the engine, but are included. The original factory tools still reside in the original roll, and can be found right next to the original jack and boot cover. There is virtually nothing missing from this incredible car. A car bearing more authenticity and documentation in this state of preservation is impossible to reproduce. The value in this automobiles provenance is almost impossible to quantify, as it virtually cannot be duplicated, nor found anywhere else at any price. Do not miss this opportunity to acquire the rarest, most well documented, and most outstandingly preserved 1951 Mercedes-Benz 220 B Convertible in existence. This is the find of a lifetime for any serious Mercedes-Benz collector, and most certainly ranks among the most coveted of the marque. Please contact John Sherman for more details. He will be happy to provide you with a complete walk around, as well as answer any questions you may have about this incredible motorcar. Bid with confidence for over 40 years Daniel Schmitt & Co. has built an unrivaled reputation by uniting the worlds finest motorcars with those who treasure them.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.
We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.
